Rollways Campground,[Campground & RV Parks], Huron-Manistee National Forests, Hale, MI 48739, Phone: (989) 739-0728. From Hale, MI, take State Rt. 65 north 6.2 miles to Rollways Rd. Turn left onto Rollways Rd. and go 0.2 miles to campground entrance. The campground is located off the River Road Scenic Byway and above the Au Sable River. A quiet campground in mixed hardwoods and conifers features spacious sites with good privacy. The Au Sable River has been designated a National Scenic River. With a calm, gentle current, nesting Bald eagles, and a varied and interesting shoreline, the Au Sable River is a good family canoeing experience. Once, several camp sites had panoramic views but all those vistas have been lost to the maturing vegetation. While there is no direct access to the Au Sable River, canoes can be rented at a nearby livery and they will take you to a put-in site. The best views of the Au Sable River are from the nearby Westgate off River Road. It features two decks, one of which is wheelchair friendly. 19 campsitews.
