Whittemore is in Iosco County, Population: 463. City Offices: 503 S. Bullock, Whittemore, MI 48770, (989) 756-301. Whittemore is located on M-65 in southwestern Iosco County. The community was named after an early resident, Frank Whittemore. A post office was established in 1880 and the community was incorporated as a city in 1907. The community retains its small town atmosphere, with several small businesses and shops. Whittemore is home to Michigan’s oldest speedway.
